Dean Martin brought his 2009 Koni Challenge GS class champion #58 Mustang FR500C and a crew of drivers to Road Atlanta and won the second annual NASA Toy Run 9 Hour Endurance race at Road Atlanta. |

American Iron Announces Schedule |

The American Iron East Coast Championship debuted last season with a successful semi national championship series. After a good first season the organizers decided on a name modification and have announced their 2010 schedule. Now known as the American Iron Challenge Series-East, this cross region series will begin its 2010 campaign at VIR in March. It will travel to Charlotte Motor Speedway of NASCAR fame, Road Atlanta, Putnam Park and Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. |

There has been a lot going on of late here and its time to start posting the news on the e-zine. The Zippo #47 Koni Challenge Mustang that we acquired in April is complete and ready for competition. Rob Bodle RaceSport is the new company that my wife, Cathy, and I have created to race this Mustang. We have partnered with another new company, Prestige Performance Racing, to attempt Grand Am Koni Sportscar Challenge racing in 2010. |

 Roush Mustangs invaded the high speed playground of Carolina Motorsports Park the first Friday of May, 2009. The occasion was part of the annual get together of Roush Mustangs at Roush Racing HQ in NASCARTown, NC.
This time they added a track event to the three day party that included a car show and banquet. It seemed like a good idea to get these high performance Mustangs someplace to let the ponies run a little and stretch their legs. As you might expect there was a nice turnout. |

Project Phoenix is our Bondurant Racing School car project in Mustang Enthusiast Magazine. After taking a month off of the pages of the magazine the 1999 Cobra from Bondurant will begin a long run of consecutive stories starting next month. We have set up the series already in ME with a rundown on Bondurant's special Mustangs and some information on this particular car, the #55 car. The first step in our build was a feature on Bob Lauer of L & B Engine Developement and the engine that he built for us. We saw a step by step process in assembly for the 4.6L 4 Valve Aluminator engine provided in part by Ford Racing. |
