The American Iron East Coast Championship debuted last season with a successful semi national championship series.

After a good first season the organizers decided on a name modification and have announced their 2010 schedule.  Now known as the American Iron Challenge Series-East, this cross region series will begin its 2010 campaign at VIR in March.  It will travel to Charlotte Motor Speedway of NASCAR fame, Road Atlanta, Putnam Park and Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Its a very nice combination of venues which will call on different skills for the drivers and characteristics for the race cars.

AICS will also expand from its American Iron base by adding both the Camaro-Mustang Challenge Series and American Iron Extreme to its events.

Here is the complete schedule.

March 27-28 VIR (great track, cant wait much longer to start)
April 19 Lowes (Monday event, Unique opportunity on oval, best fit with weather concerns)
May 15-16 Putnam (MW/GL cross over, not much else in May, pulls more MW guys in)
June 19-20 Atlanta (great track, not as hot as August)
July 24-25 VIR (great track, July should be great)
August 14-15 Mid Ohio (great track, MW/GL cross over, avoiding April weather)
