Barber Motorsports Park was overflowing with Mustangs. I personally have never seen so many Mustangs. At one point I looked up and saw a sea of raised Mustang hoods. That's really all I could see at that point. It was wild. There were FR500S Mustang Challenge race cars and historic racers. There were 2010 Mustangs that people were seeing for the first time in person and 1964 Mustangs that we have all seen our entire lives.

We brought the 1995 Cobra R Steeda Race car. We ran all day Thursday during the events open track sessions. On Sunday we lined up for a Cobra R Exhibition race.

Dean Martin brought his new 2009 Rehagen Racing built club racer. The beautiful blue Mustang is American Iron legal with a 4.6L 3 Valve. There is a lot of FR500C Koni Challenge race car in this package. Dean took the car out for some laps on Thursday and Friday. The car ended up in the Cobra R race when a 2000 Cobra R blew up on Saturday Dean offered the use of the new car for the race. It started last and won the race. Impressive.

There were a few booboo's at the event. A handful of blown engines and one ugly crash involving a pretty red Roush Mustang. The Roush and one of the TC Motorsports FR500S cars left the track on rollbacks after getting into the Barber Motorsports concrete.

Tommy Kendall and Scott Pruett were on hand for the weekend. They did hot laps in Speed Werks Mustang Challenge cars. Pruett then could be heard on the PA with commentary for the Mustang Challenge races on Saturday and Sunday.

I also saw a brand new Brembo 14" brake kit. The very first kit for SN95 Mustangs was installed on Joe Johnson's 2000 Cobra R by John George of Chicane23.com. The kit was developed by Dean Martin and was a sight to see. More on this later. I can guarantee.

Then there were the drift cars. Smoke and noise. More smoke and more noise. A real show.
