The SCCA has made some long awaited changes to the rules governing their longtime popular pony car racing class, American Sedan. The new guidelines allow Mustangs in the Touring classes to run AS and thus allowing for the first time fuel injected engines in the class.
The class has required Mustangs and Cobras to race with 302ci carburated engines, a package that has not been available in a street Mustang for well over a decade. Now fuel injected pushrod and modular engines can be used. This allows Mustangs and Cobras in the T1 and T2 classes to race in AS at a national level. This move is hoped to both modernize the class and increase participation that has slipped in recent years. |

If you had been at Road Atlanta this past weekend(March 14-16, 2008) for the NASA-SE race weekend, you would have been in for a real treat.
Two weeks ago Ford delivered its first FR500S race Mustangs. These cars are meant for the Miller Cup race series and with the debut race at Road Atlanta in a little more than a month many FR500S owners took advantage of the NASA race weekend to try out their new toys. Rehagan Racing and Stable One of Maryland had eight of these cars on the race track and they looked very good. |

One of our features in the new Mustang On Track is a dedicated project race car. Each month we will document the progress on our project.
Tell you what went well and what didn’t work out so well. We are hoping that you can learn something along the way. At the very least we think you will get some entertainment from watching our fits and starts. |
