Its time to introduce the new car we have to work with at MustangOntrack.com and Terra X RaceSport. Say hello to Zippo!

This is a Koni Challenge Mustang. Built to FR500C specs and legal to race in Grand Am's Koni Challenge racing series this is not a true FR500C built by Ford. This is a race teabuild car by TF Racing which has entered Mustangs sponsored by Zippo for decades.

This car is the last Zippo race car. TF Racing retired from Grand Am Racing along with Zippo after the Watkins Glen race in mid 2007. This car has been sitting since. Jim Seafuse campaigns Mustangs in Koni Challenge under the name JBS Racing and he had some history with the car and bought the car from TF Racing after the race. He never found use for it and after a lot of conversation we acquired the car last month.

The Mustang is complete but not at present. We acquired all the parts to assemble the car and all but the engine are in hand. The engine will be freshly built at L & B Engine Developement and we hope to have it soon.

What we do know is that you will be able to watch as we get this car back on the race track in the late summer and early fall of 2009. We are not entirely sure yet what we are going to do with it.
